Hamptons Lounge Interior Design Project In Fleet, Hampshire

December 15, 2022

A lot of people these days are asking for guidance on how to give their new build homes character, and that was the brief for this specific project.

My client wanted influences of Hamptons design. Hamptons originated from Long Island, America and endeavours to create a space which is open, bright and breezy with classic proportions, and natural materials.

When working with a concept such as this, it’s important to research the types of materials used in that particular concept. We’ve used navy colourings here with natural woods, rope, a jute carpet and paired these with lantern lighting and gold and silver metallic detailing for
some heightened luxury.

The end product is one which is calming, fresh and airy with the subtle blue details anchoring the scheme.

Most people don't realise it, but lighting is probably the single most underestimated tool in interior design. Get it wrong and even a beautifully decorated room can feel flat or uninviting. Get it right, and suddenly an ordinary space feels warm, spacious, and thoughtfully put together without touching a single wall. With the longer evenings of May stretching well into the night, now is actually a brilliant time to think about how artificial light works in your home. You're using it more consciously than in the depths of winter, and you'll notice its effect far more as it competes with natural daylight throughout the day
